I was one of many who expected the University of Michigan football program to continue it’s undefeated season this week in Iowa City, IA. In fact most prognosticators didn’t give the University of Iowa Hawkeyes much of an opportunity in the game. Unfortunately for us die-hard Wolverines, this perception did not translate into reality as the Iowa Hawkeye defense was stingier than anticipated after being blown away in their last contest a week ago. The Michigan offense was not able to generate any consistent push or create many positive plays or drives. The end result was Iowa getting one last shot against the supposed best defense in the country to drive into field goal range for the win. This is precisely what happened with the aid of some questionable penalties and poor defensive efficiency in the last minute. The Hawkeyes brought the University of Michigan Wolverines dreams of an undefeated season to an end in epic last second fashion.
